The UK Government has announced a new initiative to encourage small / medium enterprises and public procurement to start using electronic invoicing.
Many local authorities and NHS trusts have already benefited from the efficiency savings that can be achieved through e-invoicing.
Nigel Taylor, Chair of the UK National e-Invoicing Forum, UKNeF, (of which WinWeb is a member) said “The UKNeF has estimated that widespread adoption should lead to significant public sector efficiencies and cost savings of between £4-6bn annually.”
UK businesses are still lagging behind when it comes to online trading. Although the UK is the most advanced online market in Europe, fewer than a third of UK SMEs transact online. The campaign will hopefully help businesses that are not yet online to start doing things like process electronic payments, sell goods overseas and get to grips with cloud computing.
