Congratulations to this week’s WinWeb Pitch of the Week winner, Tessa Stowe. Tessa runs a company called Salesconversation.com – we spoke to her to find out just what her business is about.
“I started SalesConversation.com to coach small business owners on how to sell without being forceful or pushy. A lot of small business owners struggle with selling – and wish they didn’t have to do it – because they believe they have to be ruthless and pushy and this is not in alignment with who they are and why they started their own business. The irony is that being that this sales-y and pushy approach often actually creates barriers between the business owner and their customers and prevents sales.
Selling is about helping people to find out what they want, or need, and to do that you simply need to have a conversation. Engaging a potential customer in a conversation about what they find difficult and how you might be able to help will reap significantly better results than simply telling them that they need something. It really is as simple as that.
My mission is to spread the word about this “secret”, changing people’s perceptions of sales, and to help small businesses have more and more of these fulfilling conversations so they can help more people – and make more sales.
I write a monthly newsletter in which I give valuable practical tips and sales strategies. You can subscribe here – I also run a free sales teleseminar once a month on a particular sales topic and these are announced in the newsletter too.”
Tessa is using a technique she has developed and found to be successful to help other small business owners – could you do the same?
