The latest winner of our weekly competition is Mariano Pastor, the owner of Via U!, an affordable online photography studio that aims to help small businesses increase their sales. We recently spoke to Mariano to find out more about their business:
“I’m an advertising photographer in NYC, creating images that help large companies sell more and keep their brand fresh. I launched Via U! in the summer of 2009, but the idea of delivering superior quality and highly customised photographs at an affordable price took almost four years to achieve.
To make this a possibility, we had to first create an interface that let clients tell us what they want. Today, there is very little about Via U! that resembles a traditional photography studio. We even ended up designing our own studio lighting equipment.
All of this was necessary for us to offer our know-how at a lower price than the competition and make our service a viable option for small businesses. Being online enables us to work together with clients without any geographical limitations.
The main problem we have had is convincing people that they can actually get such a professional service for a low price. In the future we aim to reach out more to small businesses on a global scale and look forward to working with them.”
Mariano was able to make use of the Internet to provide a service at a lower cost than the rest of the industry. Have you got a similar success story to share? Why not enter our Pitch of the Week competition right now, for the chance to win some free promotion for your business!
