Snow is often regarded as a major problem for businesses but fun for kids. Not being able to get to work, while knowing that there are customers waiting for that all important quote, can be very stressful for anyone – because we don’t like letting people down, especially not our customers. There’s the potential that those customers have not made it to work either, but then maybe they did? And if your small business isn’t open, what about your competitors? It can be stressful, frustrating and isolating for many business owners at this time of year.
During the last few days of this unexpected snow fall, we at WinWeb.com have been working hard and watching the snow fall outside our windows – our home windows. Most of the time the WinWeb team work from home, across the UK. So we have the beautiful snow and the warmth of our home offices – Our colleagues in the US and Australia are not so lucky, they did not get any wintery snow.
Despite the closed airports, rail-stations, motorways and roads, we all have been able to continue to work as not let our customers down as we use our own cloud computing software – and this is also true for all of our clients. If they have offices and can’t get to them, they can just switch on their home computer and keep on working.
As you can see, you really can have it all; lots of snow and be at work at the same time. So if you are a WinWeb customer, currently snowed in, just put the kettle on and keep on working. Best to move your desk in front of a window and enjoy the view while you do your number-crunching, admin, design or any other work.
There is something nice about being independent from the weather and life’s other little problems – and WinWeb can make that happen!
